Hello!

This we are going to talk about MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses), where I have attempted to design a MOOC that will be at least 50 % successful. I have created a document outlining my targeted audience, the content that will be available, the features of my MOOC (GEARNING), and the policies and standards that will maintain the reliability of the MOOC.

MOOCs have taken a drastic turn recently, take for example Coursera or Udacity, which have reported “only half of those who signed up watched even one lecture, and only 4% stayed long enough to complete a course.”. MOOCs need to move away from using completion of free courses to measure success, but instead be looking at the number of people who return and utilise the resources provided.

The future of online learning isn’t about accessibility or better content, it’s about what we already know works with other learning software, such as Minecraft, that combines this trial, failure and improvement model to not only preserve long term engagement, but also the quality of learning; which should altogether be combined with what works offline.

Take a look at my document!
